The ATOJO SRS is the latest motocross boot designed and developed by Sidi to specifically meet the requirements of their professional riders.
Working with MX champions from around the world including Tony Cairoli, Sidi have managed to create a comfortable off-road boot that provides an exceptional level of protection and support for motocross and off-road riders.
Sidi Brand Manager, Damien Irwin, is impressed by the Sidi ATOJO SRS noting that this innovative boot contains all the essential features that a professional level motocross boot must have, with weight at the top of the list to drive performance.
“The lightweight ATOJO weighs up to 250 grams less per boot than other models, with zero compromise to performance, comfort or protection”, he said.
McLeod Accessories is proud to launch the new Sidi ATOJO SRS, knowing a boot developed with input from the team of SIDI champions, will prove to be even more lightweight and functional than ever before.
Working alongside Sidi technicians, nine-time World Champion Tony Cairoli gave valuable advice that helped Sidi specialists perfect important features. MX legend Alessandro Lupino contributed his significant experience to the development of this boot, and young, up-and-coming phenomenon Jorge Prado fined tuned performance while racing in the MXGP.
Australian MX Champion Todd Waters has also been racing in the new ATOJO SRS boots throughout 2021 and remains impressed by how lightweight and comfortable they are. “I’m impressed by how compact they are, which allows me to get in closer to the bike for excellent feel and control”, he said.
In off-road boots, particularly of this level, protection is everything; and the ATOJO doesn’t disappoint. It comes fully equipped with external plastic protection and provides additional protection of the metatarsus though a rigid and replaceable nylon insert. This protects the inside of the boot in case the rider’s foot slips off the foot-peg. The PU heel is shaped and specially moulded to improve foot safety in case of torsional twists and is shaped to ensure comfort and stability.
The upper section of the ATOJO ends with an elastic gaiter equipped with an anti-heat protection panel. The gaiter is closed with a soft PU Velcro strap to prevent the entry of rocks and dirt and features a wide adjustment to incorporate knee braces. The boot leg is equipped with a suede calf section cover enriched with embossed rubber inserts which, in addition to providing good grip in contact with the bike, have the function of protecting the leg from heat. The rubber inserts are also found on the inside of the ankle.
ATOJO’s Sole Replacement System (SRS) features an innovative interchangeable sole design and a revolutionary replacement system, fully patented by Sidi. Sole replacement is simple and fast via a new interlocking Dovetail system and 4 screws. There is also an accessory ENDURO sole with deeper sole tread and extra grip available separately. The fully redesigned footbed now offers a wider fit than the Crossfire 3, extending the ATOJO’s premium comfort to a greater range of riders.
To offer world class leading protection, the ATOJO’s ankle hinge system has two flex points: the first hinge is positioned under the ankle to reduce boot thickness, minimising bulk and making the ATOJO smoother and more aerodynamic on the inside. A support brace placed inside the boot limits the range of movement to prevent hyper-extension of the ankle, of both the instep and of the back tendon, ensuring greater security. The second joint above the ankle works in sync with the lower hinge, and improves the flexibility, making every movement fluid without compromising rigidity and lateral protection.
The ATOJO SRS provides three anti-hyperextension systems for the foot. The first is located on the first hinge, the second on the back of the boot, and the third is applied to the front of the boot. These are constructed of an innovative replaceable system that allows a specific tibia flexion range and freezes if bending is excessive. A PU bootleg connected to the ankle strap through the second hinge protects the back of the boot and is positioned between the boot upper and the lining.
The ATOJO SRS uses a three-buckle closure system where each buckle works independently from the other, each composed of a toothed strap and a hook with micrometric adjustment memory system. The buckle, strap and hook are all replaceable. The buckles have only one fixed point (via a screw), which ensures easy closing allowing the boot to adapt to the leg of the rider and provide greater comfort. A spoiler has been added to the lower buckle to deflect debris away plus the ankle panel and central closure strap can be easily replaced by four screws.
The Sidi ATOJO SRS boots are available now in 10 different colour combinations, in Euro sizes 40 through to 47 and are available for only $799.95 RRP.
